OUR DIVECENTER
Our dive center is located just meters from TonSaiBay’s
best beach and swimming area within the tranquil surroundings
of the Andaman Beach Resort, just a few minutes walk from
the main pier and Phi Phi’s night life.
It consists of three buildings, the first being an information/booking
area and a classroom, equipped with the full range of PADI and
SSI course materials in various languages, allowing student divers
from all over the world to come and participate in our dive programs.
This building also has a fully equipped office, with telephone/fax,
web access, VHF Radio Base & Apple Mac powered imaging station.
THE EQUIPMENT AREA
The second building is our equipment room with a beachside gearing
up area which is just across the foot path.
Our rental equipment consists of Aqualung Wave BCD’s, equipped
with safety balloons / surface marker buoys, Aqualung Calypso regulators
/ gauges, 3mm short wetsuits [water temperature is 27-30 celcius],
silicone masks, full-foot and open-heel fins, plus plenty of weights
and weight belts. Our regulators are regularly serviced by Aquamaster who
are Thailand’s sole Aqualung supplier and service center.
We also have compasses, dive computers, dive lights, underwater
cameras, etc for rental & use with our variety of courses.
THE FILLING STATION
The third building is our compressor room and is located at the
very back of the resort, far from the rooms and beach to stop noise
pollution. This is where the normal air & Enriched Air Nitrox
tanks are filled, along with being our equipment maintenance area.
Our air compressor and tanks comply with all relevant international
industry standards and we frequently change the compressors filters
and oil to produce clean air within safe tanks. Both our compressor & tanks
are serviced / inspected annually and our tanks bear the relevant
inspection stickers. As the only Nitrox facility on Phi Phi
Island we can provide any Enriched Air mixes of up to 36% for certified
nitrox divers, or those enrolling in an Enriched Air Nitrox specialty
course.
**All of our scuba related equipment is repaired/serviced
by either us or Aquamaster, Divesupply, Scuba Tech International
or Siam Diving Enterprises.

CONFINED WATER

As well as our own swimming pool we also have our very own
confined-water area for shallow water training. The swimming
pool is a thirty second walk, and the confined area is a 50m
x 30m buoyed off area directly outside our center. No boats
are allowed to enter into the area so it makes our training
totally safe and easy to learn. This area is also great
for swimmers! |
OUR BOAT
DESCRIPTION
Our custom built dive boat is the best way to experience the fantastic
local marine park dive sites. It holds maximum 10 divers including staff and
is pretty fast making it a very fun 5-10 minute ride just to get to the dive
sites. With a cruising speed of about 55 km/hour anyone that has been on our
boat will tell you how much fun it really is, and also how easy it is to dive
from.
Being a fairly small boat with an out board motor we can operate
it in very shallow water enabling us to go to certain lagoons,
bays and beaches where the big boats simple cannot go. Also we
start our trips from the beach directly outside our shop rather
than using the somewhat chaotic main pier of Ton sai bay. As any
experienced diver will tell you it is much better to dive in small
groups, giving a much better chance of seeing more underwater life,
thus experiencing a much more personal dive. It was for these reasons
plus the fact that the local dive sites are very close by that
Harlequin decided to build this kind of dive boat for the local
marine park trip.
***Please note: Very occasionally when weather
conditions are very bad we use a big / slow dive boat for diver
comfort. Also we use different dive boats for the further away
trips of Kingcruiser, Koh Haa and Hin Daeng.
SAFETY
The boat is fully equipped with everything that we might
need such as spare dive equipment, oxygen, first aid, radio communication,
GPS, navigation lights, life-jackets and life rings.
