DESCRIPTION
Luckily we have over twenty local sites to
choose from which you can see on the dive site map. Most are generally
quite shallow dives with maximum depths of around twenty metres,
although on a few dive sites depths reach around thirty metres. The topography of
the sites themselves are completely varied with fringing
reefs, rocky outcrops, vertical walls and plenty
of big over-hangs and swim-throughs.
Many sites are littered with a high concentration of
marine life, soft corals are in abundance with giant gorgonian sea
fans, sea whips and different species of anemone. Also hundreds of
different species of reef fish can
be found on every dive including banner fish, angel fish, clown
fish, scorpion fish, trumpet fish and schooling
yellow snapper. zebra sharks (or
leopard sharks), black-tip reef sharks, green and hawksbill turtles,
sea horses, cuttle fish, moray eels, banded sea-snakes
and harlequin ghost pipe fish being
major attractions. The gigantic yet harmless whale
shark also makes the occasional showing. The local
dives are diverse and interesting enough to keep the certified diver
busy for weeks of diving!

SCHEDULE
Here at Harlequin we usually operate morning and afternoon trips
everyday on our local dives. We leave from the beach directly outside
our shop at 08:00 for the morning trip and 13:00 for the afternoon
trip. [this can change sometimes due to the tides] Due to our custom
built dive boat being very fast it takes us no more than ten minutes
to get to any of our dive sites.
We make a one hour dive at the first site, then
we usually go to one of the bays on Koh Phi Phi Leh where we stop
for about one hour for lunch, then we move to the second dive site
where we make another one hour dive, returning to the shop in a
total about four hours.
