To get to Koh Phi Phi first
you have to get to either Phuket or Krabi, and from
there you take a two hour passenger boat directly to
Phi Phi island itself.
[Sometimes in the high season there are also
direct passenger boats from Koh Lanta to Phi Phi , and also from
Ao Nang to Phi Phi ]
GETTING TO PHUKET / KRABI
BY FLIGHT
Obviously flying to either Phuket or Krabi is the easiest
most convenient option of getting to Phi Phi . Phuket
has direct flights from many destinations such as Singapore , Kuala
lumper, Europe as well as connecting flights with just about anywhere
in the world. Also direct domestic flights from Koh Samui, Bangkok
and Chiang Mai. There are many flights everyday between Bangkok
and Phuket. Krabi airport now has flights to Singapore as well
as Bangkok and Koh Samui.
SEA-PLANE
Now there is a sea plane operating flights between Phuket
airport, Patong, Krabi, Koh Lanta, and Phi Phi island, plus more.
It is called 'destination air', and although it is quite expensive
it is possible to fly directly to Phi Phi island without having
to get taxis and passenger boats.
AIRPORTS
Phuket [International + domestic] - 40 minute
taxi to Rassada pier, Phuket town.
Krabi [International + domestic] - 40 minutes
taxi to Krabi town pier.
BY BUS
There are many different buses and mini-buses to and from
Phuket and Krabi from all major locations such as Singapore , Kuala
Lumpur , Penang , Kota Bharu, Had Yai, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan,
Koh Tao, Bangkok , Chiang Mai etc. From Bangkok it takes
about 12 hours. From Penang about 9 hours. You can choose between
tourist only coaches [leaving directly from popular places like
Ko San road, or regular coaches leaving from major bus stations.]
